The Nominating Committee is actively seeking nominations (including
self-nominations) of individuals to run as candidates for the officer
positions of our SIAM Activities Group in Dynamical Systems (SIAG/DS) for
2026-2027.
The four officer positions are: Chair, Vice Chair, Program Director, and

Brief descriptions of the main SIAG/DS officer responsibilities:
Broadly, the Chair acts as the chief volunteer of the SIAG, provides
leadership to the SIAG, runs the SIAG business meetings, recommends
members for SIAG Prize committees, represents the SIAG within SIAM, and
performs several other SIAG duties.
The Vice Chair carries out the duties of the Chair if they are unable to
fulfill the duties, and they preside at meetings when the Chair is absent.
The Program Director (PD) has the primary responsibility for organizing
the bi-annual SIAM Conference on Applications of Dynamical Systems (the
conference formerly known as Snowbird, of which the next iteration SIAM DS27 will be
held May 23–27, 2027 in Atlanta, GA, USA). We note that there has long been a
tradition that the two candidates who stand for election as the Program
Director co-organize the DS conference. In addition, the PD helps organize
minisymposia for the SIAM Annual Meeting in years when there is no SIAG
conference.
The Secretary handles SIAG correspondence, oversees the production and
distribution of the SIAG newsletter (DSWeb magazine), ensures that the information about the
SIAG on the SIAM website is correct, maintains minutes of the SIAG
business meetings, and serves as SIAM Engage Community Moderator.
