NSF Dear Colleague Letter

A "Dear Colleague Letter" has been issued by the National Science Foundation for proposal addressing crosscutting topics in theory and application of dynamical systems. It is sponsored jointly by the ENG/CMMI/Dynamical Systems and the MPS/DMS/Applied Mathematics program, with the intention to stimulate interest in special topics in Dynamical Systems.

Edward Lorenz, Professor of Meteorology, Emeritus, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, passed away on Wednesday, April 16. He was 90 years old.

Herb Keller 1925-2008

Herbert B. Keller, Professor of Applied Mathematics, Emeritus, at the California Institute of Technology, passed away on Saturday, January 26. He was 82 years old.

UK Dynamical Systems Graduate School

The UK Dynamical Systems Graduate School consists of four one-week schools in different locations around the UK and on different topics in Dynamics. The general level of the schools is introductory to intermediate and in particular the schools are specifically aimed at graduate students and researchers who are not necessarily specialists in the topic of the school.

DSWeb Tutorials Competition '07

DSWeb held a student competition for online tutorials in dynamical systems. The two winning entries are interactive self-paced tutorials that would be of interest to students beginning to learn the subject. They appear in the DSWeb tutorial section.
